If you’re going to a NARUTO CARD GAME demo at New York Comic Con — or any stop on Bandai’s autumn tour — registering for the “NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL” on the BANDAI TCG+ app is a condition of receiving the promo card, not an optional mailing list. Attendees at Gen Con 2026 had to be registered to get the CP-001 Chakra Card gift set, and Bandai’s official NYCC page carries the same requirement for October 8–11.

It takes about five minutes and needs a BANDAI NAMCO ID. Do it at home, not in a convention hall. This walkthrough follows Bandai’s own instructions from the official NARUTO CARD GAME site (posted June 18, 2026) and is accurate as of September 29, 2026.

Why this is a gate, not a newsletter

Bandai has used the same structure at every NARUTO CARD GAME event so far. At Gen Con 2026 (July 30 – August 2), tutorial participants received a gift set — CP-001 Chakra Card, backpack, logo sticker, and a purchase voucher for the Official Playmat — but only if they had registered for the “NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL” on TCG+ and completed the post-session survey.

New York Comic Con repeats it. Per the official event page for booth #2705, tutorial participants get the CP-001 Chakra Card and a logo sticker, and the stated requirements are: registered to the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL on TCG+, plus a completed post-session survey. One gift per person regardless of how many sessions you attend.

Given that the Gen Con version of that promo has been changing hands in the four-figure range on the secondary market, “I didn’t have the app” is an expensive way to leave a demo session.

Bandai hasn’t announced whether the same requirement carries to PAX Australia, Paris Games Week, Spiel Essen, or Lucca Comics & Games. Two for two is a pattern worth preparing for, not a confirmed rule.

The exact setup, step by step

Before you start: install BANDAI TCG+ (iOS App Store or Google Play) and have a BANDAI NAMCO ID. If you don’t have one, you’ll need to register it — that’s the step most likely to eat time, so do it first.

  1. Log in. Tap [Login] at the top right of the BANDAI TCG+ screen and sign in with your BANDAI NAMCO ID.
  2. Switch the game. Tap the TCG title at the top of the screen and change it to NARUTO CARD GAME. The app supports several Bandai games and defaults to whatever you last used, so this is easy to miss.
  3. Find the channel. On the Events page, search for “NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL” and tap [Event Details].
  4. Confirm the series. Scroll to the bottom of that page and tap [Confirm Event Series].
  5. Apply. From the Event Search screen, tap [Apply], then [Confirm Contents and Apply].

Once registered, Bandai’s wording is that “the latest information on the NARUTO CARD GAME will be delivered straight to your notifications.” Leave push notifications enabled for the app or the channel does considerably less for you.

What it does — and one thing it explicitly doesn’t

Bandai attaches an unusually blunt note to this channel: “This event page is not for event participation at a venue. This event page is only for receiving the latest updates on the NARUTO CARD GAME.”

That matters, because the app’s other function is real event entry. TCG+ describes itself as the place to “easily search for and apply to tournaments and other events held at nearby stores,” prepare a deck beforehand from your phone, and handle check-in, matchup confirmation, and result recording on the day.

So there are two separate things in one app:

  • The updates channel — registration is a flag on your account. It’s what NYCC checks. It does not reserve you a tutorial slot.
  • Store event entry — the tournament function that matters from January 2027 onward, when in-store tutorial sessions begin.

At NYCC, your actual tutorial ticket comes from a physical first-come, first-served line at the BANDAI Namco booth #3001 at opening — a different booth from the card game booth. The app registration is the thing that makes your completed session eligible for the gift, nothing more. Our full NYCC 2026 booth guide covers the rest of the floor logistics via official sources.

The three dates this channel will actually matter for

When What Bandai has said Why the channel matters
Oct 8–11, 2026 NYCC booth #2705, free tutorials, CP-001 promo Registration is a stated requirement for the gift
December 2026 “More details about the game” First product information drop; push notification is the fastest route
January 2027 In-store tutorial sessions begin TCG+ is Bandai’s store-event entry system across its TCG lineup
Summer 2027 Worldwide release, 50+ regions Tournament entry, deck registration, results

Bandai’s July 29, 2026 press release is the source for the December, January, and Summer 2027 milestones, and for the “more than 50 regions worldwide” claim covering North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, Oceania, and the Middle East.

One honest caveat: none of this is a guarantee that the December drop will be substantial. “More details” is Bandai’s phrasing, not ours, and new TCG timelines slip. What the channel buys you is being first in line for whatever does land.

The other prep worth doing: learn the engine

NARUTO CARD GAME is confirmed to use Bandai’s Leader-based skeleton. You build around a Leader card, play Character cards in your Leader’s color, spend Chakra cards to activate Ninjutsu and Support effects, use a Summon card to put Characters onto the battlefield, and deploy EX Characters once certain conditions are met. You win by reducing the opposing Leader’s Life to zero. Our mechanics breakdown from the July 29 reveal goes through it in detail.

That structure isn’t new — it’s the family Bandai has been iterating on since One Piece. Playing one of those games now means arriving at a January 2027 tutorial already fluent in the turn rhythm. Three entry points, cheapest first:

ONE PIECE Card Game Start Deck Side Monkey D. Luffy [ST-8] — 1,660 JPY. The cheapest complete, ready-to-play Leader deck Bandai sells, and One Piece is the game whose Leader/cost structure Naruto most visibly inherits.

ONE PIECE Card Game Start Deck Side Monkey D Luffy [ST-8]

ONE PIECE Card Game Start Deck Side Monkey D Luffy ST-8

The caveat: a Start Deck is a teaching tool, not a competitive deck. It’ll lose badly to anything built from boosters, which is fine if learning is the point and disappointing if it isn’t. It’s also the Japanese printing.

BANDAI Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World Booster Pack Fiery Fighting Spirit (FB02), 24-pack box — 9,895 JPY. Fusion World is Bandai’s most deliberately simplified Leader-based design, which makes it the easiest of the three to actually teach someone in an evening.

BANDAI Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World Booster Pack Fiery Fighting Spirit (FB02) (BOX) 24 Packs

BANDAI Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World Fiery Fighting Spirit FB02 booster box

The caveat: FB02 is a 2024 set. You’re buying it to learn and to open packs, not to build anything current — and a booster box is a poor way to assemble a playable deck compared to a starter plus singles.

BANDAI Digimon Card Game Booster Pack WORLD CONVERGENCE (BT-21), 24-pack box — 6,671 JPY. Digimon is the oldest of Bandai’s modern TCGs and the most mechanically demanding, so it’s the one that’ll make Naruto feel simple by comparison.

BANDAI Digimon Card Game Booster Pack WORLD CONVERGENCE (BT-21) (BOX) 24 Packs

BANDAI Digimon Card Game Booster Pack WORLD CONVERGENCE BT-21 box

The caveat: Digimon doesn’t use a Leader card at all — it runs a Security stack and digivolution instead. It teaches Bandai’s design habits, not Naruto’s specific structure. Of the three, it’s the least direct comparison.

Prices and stock above are from Discovery Japan Mall as of September 29, 2026 and move with the yen. Card and product values fluctuate; none of this is financial advice.

FAQ

Is BANDAI TCG+ required to play NARUTO CARD GAME?

Not to play casually. It is required to receive event promo gifts — both Gen Con 2026 and New York Comic Con list registration to the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL as a condition — and it’s Bandai’s entry system for organized store events, which begin with tutorial sessions in January 2027.

Does registering for the updates channel reserve me a demo slot?

No, and Bandai says so directly: the channel page “is not for event participation at a venue.” At NYCC 2026, tutorial tickets are handed out first-come, first-served at opening from the BANDAI Namco booth #3001, separate from the card game booth #2705.

Do I need a BANDAI NAMCO ID?

Yes. You log into BANDAI TCG+ with a BANDAI NAMCO ID, and you’ll need to register one if you don’t already have it from another Bandai Namco service. Do this before travelling — it’s the slowest step.

What platforms is BANDAI TCG+ on?

iOS via the Apple App Store and Android via Google Play. The app supports Bandai’s TCG lineup — Battle Spirits, Dragon Ball Super Card Game (Masters and Fusion World), Digimon Card Game, One Piece Card Game, Union Arena, Gundam Card Game, and NARUTO CARD GAME — so remember to switch the title at the top of the screen before searching for the Naruto channel.

When will the app actually be useful for Naruto tournaments?

Bandai has said in-store tutorial sessions start in January 2027, ahead of the Summer 2027 worldwide release across more than 50 regions. That’s when deck registration, check-in, matchups, and results come into play. Until then the channel is mainly a notification pipe for the December 2026 information drop.

Takeaway

This is a five-minute job with an outsized payoff: it’s the difference between finishing a free demo with a promo card and finishing one without. Install the app, log in with a BANDAI NAMCO ID, switch the title to NARUTO CARD GAME, and apply to the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL from the Events page.

Then, if you want to arrive at January’s tutorials actually knowing the game rather than learning it at the table, spend twelve dollars on a One Piece Start Deck. The engine transfers; the ninjas are the new part.
